Mr. Riptoe served twelve years in the United States Air Force.  He spent the last nine of those years as a Training Advisor and a supervisor.  Upon his separation, he worked as a Security Coordinator for over nine years with the Caddo Parish Schools system.  Mr. Riptoe returned to school and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in Elementary Education.  He was inducted into the International Honor Society in Education where he served as Vice President.  Mr. Riptoe taught on the high school and middle school level before deciding on 4th grade English/Language Arts.   Mr. Riptoe is currently teaching Reading/ELA to 4th graders at Claiborne.
